MEDICAL [OXYGEN] GAS CYLINDER CABINETS |
| Store your portable Medical Gas Cylinder safely and in compliance with OSHA requirements. SECURALL® Oxygen Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets are designed to meet storage requirements for portable medical oxygen systems as set forth in: • NFPA Code 99 - Health Care Facilities - 1999 Edition
• NFPA Code 101 - Life Safety - 2000 Edition
• NFPA Code 30 - Flammable and Combustible Liquids - 2003
• Edition OSHA Regulations
These lockable gas storage cabinets limit access to authorized personnel, protecting cylinders from theft, damage and/or tampering. The heavy-gauge, double-walled construction shields your cylinders from heat, sparks and flame, while separating them from flammable and combustible materials.
Designed for D- and E-size cylinders up to 33-3/4" long x 4-1/4" diameter, and H-size cylinders up to 60” long x 9-1/4” diameter. Fire lining available. Standard color is MG Green.

NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code - 2003 Edition
6.3.3 Storage cabinets that meet at least one of the following sets of requirements shall be acceptable for storage of liquids:
1. Storage cabinets that are designed and constructed to limit the internal temperature at the center of the cabinet and 25 mm (1 in.) from the top of the cabinet to not more than 163° C (325° F), when subjected to a 10-minute fire test that simulates the fire exposure of the standard time temperature curve specified in in NFPA 251, Standard Methods of Tests of Fire Endurance of Building Construction and Materials, shall be acceptable. All joints and seams shall remain tight and the door shall remain securely closed during test.
2. Metal Storage cabinets that are constructed in the following manner shall be acceptable :
(a) The bottom, top ,door, and sides of the cabinets shall be at least No. 18 gauge sheet steel and shall be double-walled, with 38 mm (1-1/2 in.) air space.
(b) Joints shall be riveted, welded, or made tight by some equally effective means.
(c) The door shall be provided with a three-point latch arrangements, and the doorsill shall be raised at least 50 mm (2 in.) above the bottom of the cabinet to retain spilled liquid within the cabinet.
NFPA 99 Health Care Facility - 1999 Edition
4-3.1.1.2 Storage Requirements (Location, Construction, Arrangement).
(a) Nonflammable gases (Any Quantity; In-Storage, connected, or Both)
1. Storage locations for oxygen and nitrous oxide shall be kept free of flammable materials.
8-3.1.11.2 Storage for nonflammable gases less than 3000 square ft (85 square meter).
(a) Storage locations shall be outdoors in an enclosure or within an enclosed interior space of noncombustible or limited combustible construction, with doors (or gates outdoors) that can be secured against unauthorized entry.
(b) Oxidizing gases, such as oxygen and nitrous oxide, shall not be stored with any flammable gas, liquid, or vapor.
(c) Oxidizing gases such as oxygen and nitrous oxide, shall be separated from combustibles or incompatible materials by either:
1. A minimum distance of 20 ft (6.1 m), or
2. A minimum distance of 5 ft (1.5 m) if the entire storage location is protected by an automatic sprinkler system designed in accordance with NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinker Systems, or
3. An enclosed cabinet of noncombustible construction having a minimum fire protection rating of one-half hour cylinder storage. An approved flammable liquid storage cabinet shall be permitted to be used cylinder storage.
NFPA 101 Life Safety Code - 2000 Edition
18.3.2.4 Medical Gas. Medical gas and storage and administration areas shall be protected in a accordance with NFPA 99, Standard for Health Care Facilities.
